Ian Olynick, Writer
Hello! My name is Ian Olynick. I am 17 years of age and currently a Junior at CRHS, class of '22. I am exceedingly passionate about music. I enjoy making and listening to many different styles of music and try to stay on top of new, up and coming artists. In my free time, I try to set aside time to listen to at least one new album every week to update and diversify my understanding of music. I also enjoy writing and creating music. I own several keyboards and synthesizers that I mess around with. I enjoy playing in the style of jazz, which influences anything else that I’m playing. I also enjoy sound manipulation and creating sounds that I can play that are unique and unheard of. In addition to playing piano, my primary instrument of study is the cello. I have been playing the cello since I was 11 or 12, around the time I started playing piano. I was fortunate enough to be accepted into the highest level orchestra at CRHS, and eventually I moved forward to play on the stage of Orchestra Hall, alongside my teachers and mentors, in October of 2020. I plan to pursue a career as a Musician and Producer, in an attempt to become one of the great creators and inspirations of my time. I also enjoy food and movies. My favorite food is Chicken Tikka Masala, served with garlic naan, basmati rice, and mint sauce. I watch and have watched many movies in my life and it is something my entire family can relate to together. Here’s a link to my day to day Spotify Playlist and my Instagram Account for some of the music I have created.
