WILMINGTON, DE — The Delaware Department of Human Resources will bring its fourth and final statewide career fair of 2026 to the Stockley Campus in Georgetown on Oct. 7. The event is set for noon to 4 p.m. and is designed to connect youth, adult and justice-involved jobseekers with employment opportunities in state government.
Registration is open through the state jobs website. State officials say the fair is intended to make it easier for people to find openings, learn about public service careers and, in some cases, take part in on-site interviews.
Morning session will focus on invited high school students
The fair will be split into two parts so it can serve both students and adult applicants. In the morning, invited high school students from across Delaware will take part in a session focused on career pathways and jobs in government.
That portion is meant to introduce young people to public-sector work before they enter the labor market. DHR says the morning event will give students a chance to explore what a state career can look like and what steps may be needed to get there.
The afternoon portion opens the event to the general public at noon. Adults will be able to look at part-time, full-time and casual seasonal positions with state agencies.
Public hours will open jobs to the broader community
Members of the public can attend the Stockley Campus fair during the afternoon hours from noon to 4 p.m. Organizers say the session is aimed at helping Delaware residents learn about current openings and other employment opportunities across state government.
DHR’s Central Talent Acquisition team works with state agencies before each fair to identify jobs that are available. Some of those openings may include on-site interviews, and in some cases there may be a chance for direct hiring.
The state says the effort is part of a broader push to connect jobseekers with real openings rather than simply general information. The fair is meant to give attendees a clearer view of what is available now and how they might apply.
Justice-involved jobseekers are part of the outreach effort
Another part of the afternoon session will be focused on justice-involved jobseekers. State officials say they want to help people with prior involvement in the justice system find pathways into employment and long-term careers in government.
The effort is a collaboration among DHR, the Department of Correction and the Department of Labor. Officials say the goal is to expand access to work opportunities and support second-chance hiring in state government.
Department of Correction Commissioner Terra Taylor said the agency appreciates DHR’s role in helping justice-involved people who want to work and build new careers. The labor department said the fair brings together agencies, employers and jobseekers so people can see themselves in public service.
State officials say local fairs are expanding access across all three counties
This year marks the first time DHR career fairs have been held in all three Delaware counties. State officials say moving the events into local communities makes it easier for residents to learn about public-sector opportunities without having to travel far.
DHR Secretary Yvonne Anders Gordon said access and awareness are important to building a strong and diverse workforce. She said the state wants people interested in serving Delaware to have the information and support they need to pursue those jobs.
By holding fairs in more communities, the department is trying to reach students, adults and workers who may not otherwise look into state employment. Officials say that broader outreach can help people take the next step in their professional lives.

The career fair will be held at the Stockley Campus All Star Building, 26351 Patriots Way, Georgetown, Delaware 19947. The public portion is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026, from noon until 4 p.m.
Spanish-language interpreters will be available on site to help attendees during the public hours. State officials are encouraging members of the public to register in advance and to visit the state jobs website for more information about openings with Delaware agencies.
The fair is being presented as a one-day chance to connect with government recruiters, ask questions about positions and learn what kinds of jobs may be available now. For some attendees, it may also be an opportunity to interview for a role the same day.
